I tell clients to remember: an 18 year old high school graduate this year was born in 1991! There has been an internet their entire lives.
This weekend some children were at the cookout, in particular a ten year old child. I had asked this child what grade she was in and as she told me about applying to art school she held up a finger and said, "excuse me". She pulled a cell phone out of her pocket and said hello!
The children text message, chat, use the internet, type, they are connected. We are going to continue to see the increase in internet use as the children who have used the network their entire lives graduate and become professionals. The internet will continue to become the first resource to find anything that is looked for.
For the record: I believe that children should not be subjected to advertising; it is a multi-billion dollar industry driver though and highly unlikely to stop happening, but children have less of a chance, if anybody does, to decipher between and advertisement and real life. IMHO.
